Orange Smarty is an Independent Distribution House that specialises in the representation and sales of Factual content to an International Multiplatform Market place.

Launched at MIPCOM 2013 we are a company with a combined experience of over 30 years in the industry and have the ability to offer a smart, focussed and individual approach to your content and content needs..

Founder/Managing Director: Karen Young

“I wanted to start a business that embraced my passion for customer service, a company whose emphasis was on communication and where service was our driver and sales our results. I wanted to create an environment which offered flexibility, where people felt we were actively working with them and not just alongside”

Coming from a background of blue chip companies including P&O, British Airways and Fox Television Karen’s key skills in Business Development, Sales, Marketing and Account Management saw her quickly move up the corporate ladder. Her move into Media saw her work with the Vice President of Acquisitions at Australian Broadcaster, Foxtel, before joining UK distribution company Electric Sky. As Commercial Director Karen was instrumental in the growth and development of the business, before deciding to leave and start Orange Smarty in 2013.

Her tenacious and enthusiastic approach to life has seen her bungy jump, work with gibbons in Thailand and perform on skates in the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games! She’s also a big Pompey fan!!

And another thing:

Smarties are a popular coloured chocolate sweet in the UK, each of the smarties contain milk chocolate except the Orange Smartie which is made with orange-flavoured chocolate,  making it different from the rest and some say the best!
